EVAL-6ED100HP2-FAThe HybridKIT for HybridPACK2™ represents a reference design and excellent tool for the development of 3-phase inverter systems. It allows not only performing hardware tests and measurements (i.e. short circuit, temperature, etc.) but also the development of software. It includes all necessary components in order to build the complete system and offers the interfaces to external ones (motor interface, current measurement and communication). As it comes with a full documentation which includes parts list, circuit design and layout data, it enables an accelerated start towards your Full HEV or EV system.
Hybrid Electrical Vehicles (HEV) and pure Electrical Vehicles (EV) are a key in the reduction of energy consumption and CO2 emissions in personal transportation. Infineon now offers a complete 3-phases inverter system (HybridKIT for HybridPACK2TM) which supports designers to minimize efforts during the development of (H)EV architecture designs and to evaluate Infineon’s HybridPACK2™, an IGBT power module designed for applications up to 80KW.
Typical design challenges in the development of inverter systems are: dimensioning and mechanical matching of the DC-Link capacitor (used to decouple battery and module), cooling system design to achieve best performance and required life-time, implementation of a complete set of control, monitoring, evaluation, security and protection functions on the driver and control board (concept design including component selection, schematics design and layout for proper EMC performance, including necessary clearance and creepage distances) and software development.
These design challenges have been taken care of completely in the HybridKIT2. Thus a smart solution is offered, enabling an easy and fast development of the inverter and therefore the complete (H)EV architecture design. Time to market can be optimized as a quick evaluation of key parameters is possible. HybridKIT represents not only a reference design, but also allows early system tests when e.g. included in a hardware in the loop (HiL) system or first in-vehicle packaging studies.
